Fun, fun, and more fun!

On Saturday, October 20, us YEFABers had an awesome training at the Mission Boys & Girls Club with an amazing woman named Eden! She taught us about the history of Guerrilla Theater and how that tied into leadership. Guerrilla Theater is where people come together to create a story through creativity because of a need of expression. Our day started off by doing activities that made us search deeper within ourselves. These activities ultimately helped us better understand what type of people we actually are. She wanted us to do this because with a better understanding of ourselves, as leaders we can use that to our advantage because knowing our weaknesses and strengths can help us help others more easily.
Next, Eden taught us the basics of acting in the environment of Guerrilla Theater and we soon began developing and honing our acting skills. We also learned the importance of posture and projection of the voice. These skills further helped us become better leaders because both posture and projection are very important on the way people perceive us and with these two skills, people will take us seriously when we are speaking. After gaining these skills, by the end of the day we planned and acted out our own skit about the impact of media in the lives of teenagers today. We all had a blast at this training and it was such a great experience with the exposure of Guerilla Theater!

Thank you so much Eden!
