ADOPT AN ALLEYWAY: TIME FOR CLEAN-UP!

On Saturday, November 10, 2012, Adopt an Alleyway (AAA) of the Chinese Community Development Center (CCDC), went out to help clean-up the streets of the Chinatown community! This week not only did volunteers go to Chinatown to help clean alleyways, but they also went to remove graffiti on walls!
Although Chinatown had people in the Recology department come get their trash and clean their streets, many didn’t enter the alleyways, so AAA decided to take on the responsibility of cleaning such areas!

With such determination, the volunteers woke up early in the morning to start their work at 9:30 A.M.! The day started off with a small chill, but the sun was coming out, so it proved to be a nice day to help out the community. With the teamwork of all the volunteers, they were able to paint back the walks to the color of white, and help clean up a lot of the trash that many people left on the streets! There was so much trash that ranged from plastic bags and plastic cups to paper bags!

The streets were filled with so much, but as energetic volunteers, everyone went to different alleyways to help out their community! With gloves on their hands, a trash grabber in one hand, and dustpan in another, AAA is ready to CLEAN-UP!
