Being a part the Youth Empowerment Fund Advisory Board (YEFAB) for my second term has been a privilege. YEFAB is not your average day job where you work to get paid. As a member of the board I got the chance to have my voice heard in city government. I wish every youth could experience what I have experienced while being on board. We as a board decide which youth-led programs that apply for our grant should receiving funding based on various criteria, which I have never done before. Through YEFAB, I have participated in funding youth-led programs, hosting an event for all our grantees, and funding youth-led projects with our mini grants.
