Hosting the Winter-Spring Mini Grant Orientation

On January 31, 2012 a fellow YEFABer and I had the opportunity to facilitate the Mini Grant Orientation of the 2013 Winter-Spring Cycle grant recipients. There were many outstanding project proposals that we read through but eight of them rose to the top. The eight grant recipients are Grupo Tonantzin, Looking for Home, Establishing Roots, Project What, That's not Love Talent Show, Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) Club, Dream Catchers, and Our Media Our Message. It was amazing meeting everyone and seeing how passionate they are about helping their community. We discussed the P.O (Program Officer) relationship between the grant recipients and 1 or 2 YEFAB members. The YEFAB member will be in contact with their recipients through calls, email's, and site visits. This will help create a stronger relationship between grantees and the Program officers.
We also discussed the Site Visits that will most likely happen on March. Us YEFABer's will visit our assigned project and oversee and engage in their activities. This will help us YEFAber's see how the project's are going and if there is any help needed we will happily help. Site Visits are very exciting because you get to see in action what was proposed in the applications. I am excited to see what my project has in store!
Congratulations to the recipients! And we look forward to working with you!
