Mini-Grant Gathering

We had our mid-cycle Mini-Grant Gathering on Thursday, April 19. I had the honor of being the youth facilitator for the meeting, and it was quite successful, I must say. The gathering started at 5:30 in the evening and went on to a little after 7:00. We started off with introductions, with everyone going around and saying their name and a hobby that they had. It was very fun and interesting hearing people's responses, since it was fascinating to see that there were quite a bit of similarities amongst the group (despite the fact that we all came from different parts of the city and have different backgrounds)! Ah, sadly enough, no one was a bookworm like me. But that's alright. Moving on, I led a quick ice-breaker. We played rock paper scissors, and the person who lost had to cheer on the winner. In the end, there were only 2 left, and Victor swept away the victory. Here is a picture of the final round, just right before the winner of the ice-breaker was determined:
Next on our agenda was presentations (what fun!). Each group came up to the front of the room and presented the progress of their project so far. I must say, I was very happy to hear that despite some challenges, all the groups are doing a fantastic job at completing their goal. It was also very nice to hear the different projects that groups are doing, across the city. I am certain that I was not the only one who felt that way. Everyone seemed like they were having a good time: listening and asking great questions. But at last, it was 7 o'clock, and thus concluded our gathering. See you all again at the end of the cycle gathering!
